The Times Ski Article on ALLTRACKS

Check out The Times article on the ALLTRACKS 4 week ski & snowboard course in Whistler by Toby Symington.

The Times – Alltracks 4 week ski & snowboard course

Toby hit Whistler during the biggest November on record – over 6 metres of snow fell so the conditions were great for his arrival. He spent 4 weeks with Alltracks, gaining his CSIA Level 1, Canadian Avalanche Association AST 1 and enjoyed the fantastic conditions at North America’s biggest resort.

Whistler Olympic Snowboarders

Whistler athletes Dan Raymond and Katie Tsuyuki have been added to the Canadian Snowboard Federation half pipe team for the up and coming season. In preparation for the Olympic selection only results obtained on 22 foot wall pipes will counted.

All the athletes are in Whistler this week for a training camp up on Blackcomb’s Horstman’s Glacier, in the high alpine.

For some shots of Blackcomb’s terrain, check out the Alltracks ski & snowboard course gallery.

Alltracks Sponsored skier Max Hardy hits the skier cross circuit

Skier Cross

What a crazy couple of months it’s been! A season that started as a part-time project balanced alongside my ongoing degree at the University of York has now become a full-blown, crazy dash around Europe, competing in ski cross alongside some of the world’s best.

I spent some time in York over January, and it quickly became clear that the planned time share wasn’t going to work out. The University were pretty helpful though, and we quickly worked out a compromise. I’m excited to say that I’m now on a leave of absence for the term, with the focus on progressing my skiing to the next level on the EuropaCup circuit. Read the rest of this entry »

100% EXAM SUCCESS SO FAR – Whistler Snowboarders

CASI Snowboard Courses

Along with the skiers, all the snowboarders who sat their CASI Snowboard Level 1 exam past this week – a huge congratulations to them all and to their instructors wh doing such a great job.

Our top two snowboard groups have all got the first exam hurdle under their belt with the less experienced two groups going for it is a weeks time to give some additional preperation time.

It was great to see that not only did all the guys pass but they all had such fun doing the exam, combining teaching, rider improvement and enjoying the POW!!

Next week will be a great opportunity to switch the focus away from the necessary exam skills to all mountain riding again and enjoying all of Whistler’s epic terrain. The big snow forecast for Sunday should mamke this even better.

Skier Cross Europa Cup

Skier Cross News – Max Hardy

Happy New Year!

What a busy month December was… with a whole new equipment setup, I headed out to Nendaz, near Verbier in Swizerland, to meet up with the guys for a two-week training camp.

The chalet Ian rents in Nendaz is great – lots of space and with a decent garage for storing and preparing skis, and for recovery training each afternoon on the spin bike. Read the rest of this entry »

100% Exam Success in CASI Level 1

CASI Level 1 Snowboard instructor Course

A huge congratulations to our early season snowboarders who all passed their CASI Level Snowboard Exam. The success in the CASI Level 1 was the perfect way to end the early season 4 week snowboard instructor course for the guys. Although most of the guys on the course were on a career break or gap year and have returned home, it has been great to see Ben using his qualification as an instructor out in Whistler.
