Snowboard Instructor Internship
Whistler Blackcomb Snow School are offering a fantastic course followed by the potential of an instructor job (subject to telephone interview, successfully completing the course and passing the CASI L1). Join us at Canada’s biggest and best resort to train with the best pros and then spend the rest of the season as part of the team as a full time snowboard instructor.
Internship Registration Procedure
If you are interested in joining the Whistler University Internship Course, it is important that you get in touch with us as soon as possible as places are limited. Please email or call one of the team so we can go through the process in full, tell you all about it and answer any questions.
Candidates do need to have some relevant skills/experience. These should include:
- Very Positive, enthusiastic and motivated outlook
- Be at least an intermediate/advanced skier or snowboarder
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work happily in a team environment
- Some experience in coaching/teaching
- Some experience of leadership
- Must have a working visa for Canada. Visas are still available but run out each year so it is critical that you apply asap. Please call/email the office for information on how to apply.

The training aims to make you a technically strong snowboarder in all conditions across a wide variety of terrain, ensuring you are well prepared for the CASI Level 1 and the rigours of being a snowboard pro for the rest of the season and specific training for working at Whistler Blackcomb

At ALLTRACKS, we do not work off an exact schedule, in order to make best use of the conditions and client wants/needs. However, most days are split into two distinct sessions to give you the best balance. One of them will be a high tempo, high mileage session where you will hit the best conditions available. Feedback will generally come at the end of runs or on the chairlift. The other session follows a more deliberate path, where you will work on drills to improve particular aspects of your technique and concentrate on the ways to take your riding to the next level. The video cameras will come out and you will receive detailed feedback on how you are doing.
Working after the Course
Once you have completed the CASI Level 1 during the 4 week course, you will go on to work at the Whistler Blackcomb Snowboard School as a full time instrcutor for the 2013/14 winter season. Whistler attracts skiers from all over the world and being part of Canada’s most successful snowboard school should ensure that you have a wonderful winter at one of the best places to snowboard on the planet.

As part of the ALLTRACKS internship course, you are entitled to Whistler Staff Accommodation for both the course and for the remainder of the season while you are working for the snowboard school. The course cost covers your accommodation during the training element and then you will pay for it out of your Whistler Blackcomb wages once you start working.
