Whistler - Skiing & Snowboarding.

WHISTLER & BLACKCOMB.

The area is made up of two awesome mountains - Whistler and Blackcomb. Even of there own - either one of them would represent a larger, more varied and fun hill than virtually every other resort in Canada. Together they offer some of the best skiing and snowboarding on the planet.

THE TERRAIN.

The ski & snowboarding terrain at Whistler is the largest in North America - both in terms of area & vertical drop. It is unique in combining the scale of the large European ski areas with the huge snowfalls and other benefits that western Canada & the USA are known for. The skiing and snowboarding at Whistler is ideal for all standards of rider - some of the best ski and snowboard professionals have made Whistler their home due to the extreme options available and a deep, stable snow pack. It is also perfect for us mere mortals with a huge range of long, interesting trails ranging from gentle greens to more challenging blues and blacks.

As Whistler is suituated in the Coast Mountains, it generally receives some of the the biggest snowfalls of anywhere in Canada. This means that if you're looking to ride powder - you have a great chance of hitting the right conditions on a regular basis.

Both Whistler & Blackcomb mountains benefit from about a mile of vertical which means they offer fantastic diversity. On the lower half of each mountain, you find excellent tree skiing & snowboarding which you just don't really get at the high European resorts. We hit the trees when its dumping as visibility is much better. Also, (without wanting to sound like total snow geeks) the gladed terrain keeps the snow in great condition for longer as it doesn't suffer so much form the affects of wind & sun.

When the sun come out to play - the upper mountain is the place to head. Here you find alpine terrain with huge powder bowls and big mountain lines. The addition of the Symphony Express on Whistler mountain last season opened up even more of the alpine and the joy of fresh tracks in Flute Bowl.

WHISTLER & BLACKCOMB STATISTICS.

AVERAGE SNOWFALL 10 METRES PER YEAR
AREA SIZE 8100 ACRES+
RUNS 200+

The statistics paint a pretty impressive picture but they don’t tell you about the sheer quality of the skiing and snowboarding. Words and numbers just can’t do justice to this place - you’ll have to come and check it out for yourself. Give one of the team a call if you would like more information on the resort. We will be more than happy to regale you with our tales of going deep in the record early snowfall of last year.
