Red Mountain - Skiing & Snowboarding.

RED MOUNTAIN RESORT

As Western Canada's oldest ski resort, Red Mountain offers absolutley outstanding terrain in a rustic, authentic atmosphere. This Canadian resort, located in the powder belt of interior British Columbia is ideal for skiers and snowboarders who want to experience the real Canada as well as riding one of the best ski areas in North America. Red Mountain Resort has thankfully eschewed rapid, tasteless development and has grown with care, putting skiers and snowboarders first. Despite remaining well below the radar of mass market package tourists, Red has been a place of powder pilgrimage for keen skiers and snowboarders from around the world and has justly received numerous accolades.

"Sporting one of North America's longest vertical drops, Red ROCKS for trees, glades, and deep powder."
- Powder Magazine

"Best Powder, Best Steeps, Best Trees" - Ski Canada Magazine

"One of North America's tep ten expert resorts" - Forbes Traveller

THE TERRAIN

It is no coincidence that Red Mountain has produced more members of the Canadian Ski Team than any other resort. Although there are areas for beginners and early intermediates, Red's terrain is generally pretty challenging and the steep skiing is as good as anywhere in the world.

The resort is made up of two distinct mountains, Red & Granite, which are linked at the resort base,  Granite is the larger of the two and offers an impressive vertical drop of almost 3000 ft (one of the biggest in Canada). Furthermore, skiers and snowboarders can access the entire 360 degrees of Granite Mountain from the Motherlode charlift and enjoy countless options in any direction. North, South, East and West, this unique mountain offers incredible conditions regardless of the weather!

The entire resort offers 87 runs ranging from gentle groomers to steep powder filled tree stashes as well as easy to access backcountry for those looking to push the boundaries even further. Runs include absolute classics such as "Powder Fields", " The Coolers" and "Beer Belly".

Although Red is gaining in popularity with keen skiers and snowboarders every season, the ski area remains quiet and lift lines are virtually unheard of.

THE SNOW

Red is part of the Monashee Mountain Range (a snowier sub range of the more famous Rockies) located in the interior of British Columbia and therefore benefits from excellent snow conditons, averaging over 7.5 metres per year. Additionally, because the resort is so quiet, powder conditions last much longer than in busier resorts giving you far more opportunity to enjoy the good stuff!

Snow arrives regularly due to the fact that the Rossland Range is the first noteworthy range to benefit from the predominent storm flow. After the Pacific storms dump in Whistler and other coastal areas of British Columbia and Washington state, they have over 400 miles to go before being greeted with open arms by the locals at Red.
