Red Resort is located two miles from Rossland in the West Kootenay region of interior British Columbia. Rossland is an unspoilt, attractive small town of real character and around 4000 people are lucky enough call this place home.
Rossland was initially settled by Scandinavian gold miners, who brought with them their love of skiing. The Scandis set up the Rossland Ski Club with the first downhill race being recorded in 1896. The sense of community ar both Red and Rossland remains strong and the sence of pride the local population have in their resort is striking.
Although Rossland may lack some of the amenities of larger, more commercial resorts, there is plenty on offer. In town, there are a handful of independent bars, coffee shops and cafes as well as a couple of well stocked ski and snowboard shops. Due to it's relatively small size, Red is not necessarily the best option for those looking to party hard whilst out in Canada. The focus is definitely on the skiing and snowboarding, but although there are no flashy nightclubs, there is still plenty of opportunity to enjoy a few relaxed beers as a group and get involved in other activities in this glorious part of Canada.
There is an ALLTRACKS course director available 24/7 and they will be organising various social, off slope activities every week for those who want to get involved.

Downtown Rossland
"Its soul is palpable. It breathes authenticity." - Michel Beaudry, Renowned author and skier
"A sense of magic permeates the air...The people who live in and around Rossland eat, breathe and dream skiing. And they love nothing more than sharing their passion-and their ski hill-with visitors. Time will eventually catch up with this idyllic little ski community. Of that, there's no doubt. But in the meantime, it sure is nice to visit a place where people are still considered more important than facilities-and where you can reaffirm what skiing is truly about." SKI Magazine 2003. The resort that time forgot.
