11 weeks, 77 days, 1848 hours, 110880 minutes, 6652800 seconds of fun on skis and a wee bit of dancing and drinkin' too!!!!
With only one week of the course left we are all in high spirits and game for a laugh. I am the only girl in my group which is awesome. The guys are obviously all hotties and amazing skiers with some great banter too! I really mean it boys, you made my trip!
Day one of week 11...........
We had Jo (the sexy ski instructor that all the boys fancied!)
So today was all about fun. We skied hard and fast. The best part of the day was the last run down from glacier creek on blackcomb to the base. We picked up one of the green run circular disks and started to play ultimate frisbee. Jo took our poles and we went through Arthurs Choice tree run with the frisbee. With 8 skiers in the group we kinda took over any slope we were on. Fun police were away from mountain by this point so it was all good. Check out our facebook video of the run.
Thanks Jo for an awesome last day with you..........we love you!!
Day two we had Dr Phil.......
Phil, (TP) took us down the pontiac race track today. Alex (young one) raced me and this time he won for once. Rob did really well on his million yr old rossi scratch skis with absolutely no edge, scal was awesome in his fat seths and of course james was class with his pole planting genious! Alex (old one) looked stylish with his nice bum and Tom won the proper racer technique award with his massive lead change.
When the visibility cleared up we did some cornice drops and some fresh, sick, knar, pow.
Thanks Phil, you're a star!
Day three..........Steve.......
Today we skied lots and lots and lots and lots. We climbed up Spanky's ladder today and went into Saphire bowl. Steve took the second entrance into Saphire but we decided (Alex told us to) to go down the first really narrow shoot into the bowl. Poor Steve had his heart in his mouth when he saw us all lining up at the top of the drop in. Big balls Rob and Scal went first followed by Alex (old one) and Tom and then me. I thought it would be fun to scream the whole way down........it was? James took his time but managed remarkably well without being able to plat his poles! Alex (young one), is scared of heights and took his time but did manage successfully.........eventually. All alive and ready to ski out through Saphire we all realised that Steve was rather pale and quiet. We asked what was wrong......he said he needed a minute to get his breath back and heart rate down.
Thanks Steve, awesome day!
Day four....the end of instruction.........THE DON.......
Ok, our group and THE DON hit it off big time. We fell in love on week one and continued our love affair for the whole 11 weeks. We skied on Whistler today as oppose to Blackcomb. We skiied so much today on so many runs.......powder, steeps, drop offs, cornices, trees the day was immense! We started the day off at IN DEEP and continued onto the run under the red chair. I nearly got my head chopped off by the chair lift and if it hadn't been for Tom, my scottish saviour, I would be dead. He shouted "DUCK" just as a chair came straight for my head. We then went down a sheer ice face, Alex decided he rather liked a tree at this point and stayed hugging it for quite some time. I wasn't much help as I got my camera out and video'd him while laughing! He was none too impressed as he could have done with a help rather than being caught on camera!
Next year, DON, I want to go up Goats path and also The Grey Zone and we will take you down the secret run off of Upper Peak to Creek!
We all love you DON and want you to be here next year for us!
Thank you for a sick, wicked 11 weeks!
Last night out........
Jon Drew came first out of everyone in the whole race. Well done mate (think the edge and wax the night before was key!)
I came second and was made to drink a pint out of a golden ski boot as well as a shot of Jaeger. It was not fun?!
To be honest apart from knowing that we were at Brew House and then.........ok I have no recollection after that of where we went. I do know it was a great night and I had lots of fun dancing like a raving ned! I think there was also a dare with me, Alex and Rob to finish a bottle of Jaeger between Blackcomb gondola from Whistler base and half way. We did it!!!! I then got down from there to Merlins on Robins back in skis with him carving the whole way. We got a few strange looks? Strange that really??
Alltracks........thank you so much for the most amazing 11 weeks of my life...the best to date!!!!!!!
