Ski & Snowboard Instructor Courses - ALLTRACKS Whistler Diaries

So it begins!

I’m sitting on the sofa in front of an open fire, just having got out of the Hot Tub after a full day of powder skiing, it is snowing heavily outside and I’m feeling rather good!

My name is Jonathan, I am 26 and I have just given up a career as an Environmental Manager in a London printing firm to come and train as a Ski Instructor with ALLTRACKS Academy.

I arrived to Whistler early and I’ve been here for a month now, eagerly awaiting the arrival of all the other peeps on the course. I moved out of my temporary accommodation on Tuesday and moved into the most amazing apartment with 6 new faces. The entire course met the next evening for beer and wings in the crystal lounge after a day of hunting for the best deals in town on equipment! Beer and wings seemed a good ice breaker and it wasn’t long before some of us had made it to Buffalo Bills to play a few games of pool and the odd Jager Bomb! (Most of us made it back before the real early hours keen to explore even more of the mountain for!)

The next few days were spent tuning equipment, getting familiar with the mountains and a lot of time in the Hot Tub! My favourite thing from the first week was going skiing with a group of 7 of us and playing on the mountain all day! There were some amazing wipeouts, some dodgy tree skiing and a lot of laughs had by all.

It has been an awesome first week and I am very excited about the rest of my time with ALLTRACKS!
