Whistler 2008: Week 4 of 4 Week Course (Dec 2008)

WEEK 4: LYNDSAY STEEL

The last week of the course was great fun. On monday of the exam week the boys had a day of consolidating their riding to CASI standards. Tuesday was the final day, before the exam, for getting last minute teaching practice. I joined the boys today as "the guineapig"! I am a skier and did my level one and two CSIA skiing exams with Alltracks Academy last season so donning the board was a relatively new experience. I think I surprised the boys (and myself) at my ability to keep up with them on the warm up run. I was then knocked right back down to size when they analysed my riding, each having to pick one area for improvement and a practice drill to help me achieve this. It was hard work but well worth it. I learnt a massive amount from Rick (CASI instructor) and the boys. I had a wicked day so thanks guys for letting me join in and hopefully I helped you towards achieving your level one CASI award.

The exam started on Wednesday and went through to Friday. The boys all enjoyed their exam and although stressful at points I think they breezed through. The presentation was held on friday afternoon and I am so pleased to say that all the boys passed with flying colours. I think the 100% pass rate is down to the hard work and dedication from the boys in combination with the excellent instructing they recieved from Rick. I would like to say a massive well done to Andy,Ben, Brian, Justin, and Ross aka "Action man", "benny", "brains" and "ponse".

I can't forget to mention poor Luke aka "lomper" we missed you after your early departure!
The results were celebrated by a meal in Earls and a night out in Moe Joes. We all had a relaxing day on Saturday and then Sunday was a combination of morning riding and then an afternoon of Bungee Jumping at the famous "Whistler Bungee".

I'm sure the boys will all agree that it was a fantastic four weeks in Whistler, never to be forgotten!
