Mountain Bike Courses

ALLTRACKS mountain bike courses and holidays combine expert bike coaching with lots of fun at Whistler, one of best places on the planet to ride your bike. We offer two mountain bike programmes: A Mountain Bike Instructor Course and a Mountain Bike Improvement Course. Both options will transform your riding with the instructor course also providing you with a mountain bike instructor qualification and the opportunity to go on and work as an instructor.

If you wish to work as a bike instructor once you have completed the course, there are potential opportunities to do so in Whistler so please contact us to find out more.

Mountain Bike Instructor Course

The 4 week instructor course is the ideal way to really advance your bike riding skills as well as earning the  Instructor Development Program (IDP) Level 1 qualification. Whether you want to coach or not, it is the perfect course to get you up to instructor level. As well as technical progression across a variety of terrain, you’ll be guided to the best routes in Whistler, led by your knowledgeable coach.

From the bike park, enduro style descents and technical single track – you’ll cover it all and improve each step of the way.

The IDP Qualification

The actual IDP element is 3 days combining a mix of further coaching and then assessment. You’ll be assessed on your riding standard but also on your ability to instruct others. It is almost entirely outside on the trails with very limited classroom time. In the build up to the IDP you’ll be exceptionally well prepared for the assessment as all the coaches are examiners themselves.

Mountain Bike Improvement Course

Our 2 week improvement course is an all mountain programme with a wide ranging focus. You’ll cover every type of appropriate terrain from Whistler’s lift served bike park, enduro routes and single track options too. You’ll be pushed each day whilst enjoying some of the best cycling country to be found anywhere.

Mountain Biking in Whistler

The chances are you’re already well aware of the quality of the mountain biking in Whistler and the facilities on offer. However, although Whistler’s statistics are impressive, they don’t give you the full picture – the place is absolutely awesome. With over 4900 vertical feet of descent in the bike park alone, Whistler’s big. It also has hugely varied trails with scenic high alpine riding, flowing single track, technical rooty challenges through the forests and expertly crafted man made hits.

Bike Park

The lift served bike park is the largest in Canada with over 70 designed trails in a number of different zones. There are suitable options for riders of all levels of experience. You can read more on the different zones here

It is no surprise that Whistler is home to the Enduro World Series Event each year. The fact is that the scale of the trails are almost unmatched giving the world’s best athletes the opportunity to show what they can do. But, the terrain available is also suitable for us mortals keen to push ourselves too.

Trail Riding

Like many sports, sometimes cycling gets too categorised into different aspects. If you enjoy riding your bike surrounded by beautiful alpine scenery, pushing yourself with new challenges along the way – Whistler’s the place. As the trails are so long, they can encompass many different classes of terrain and topography giving you the best of both worlds.
