A seriously talented team of coaches, led by one of the greatest ski instructors of his generation: Guy Hetherington. With passion, personality and top qualifications, each of our coaches guarantees you a good time. Virtually all of our coaches are examiners themselves so know exactly what you need for success.

A considered coaching plan for each course is informed by the ALLTRACKS Training Formula. This combines cutting edge methods to give you the best balance of technical improvement, analysis, and on snow exploration across our Ski Improvement Courses.

Small Ski Coaching Groups of 6 MAX ensures that the groups move efficiently through the mountains and that you benefit from plenty of personal attention and constructive feedback. This makes a huge difference in the rate of improvement whilst still enjoying the camaraderie of a group.

Ski Improvement Courses FAQs

What are Ski Improvement Courses and who are they for?
Our Ski Improvement Courses are all-mountain ski programmes designed to help you elevate your technique, confidence, and enjoyment across a wide range of terrain – from corduroy groomers to deep powder. They are ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers who want professional coaching and personalised feedback, whether for fun, confidence, or all mountain progression.

Where do the Ski Improvement Courses take place?
All of our improvement courses are held in Whistler, one of the world’s most renowned ski resorts. The vast variety of terrain, snow conditions and mountain challenges makes it a perfect environment for skill progression.

What course durations are available?
We offer a range of course lengths to suit different goals and timeframes, typically from 2 weeks up to 10 weeks. You can choose the duration that best fits your schedule and how much progression you want to achieve.

What’s included in the courses?
Our courses include professional coaching with small groups (max 6 skiers), access to Whistler Blackcomb terrain, and support from experienced instructors using the ALLTRACKS Training Formula. Longer courses often include Canadian Avalanche Association (AST) Level 1 avalanche training as part of the programme.

Will I get a qualification at the end?
While the primary focus of Ski Improvement Courses is personal skiing progression rather than formal qualification, on certain longer programmes there may be opportunities to work towards an instructor qualification if that aligns with your course goals.

How many people will be in my coaching group?
We limit coaching groups to no more than six skiers per instructor to ensure personalised attention, effective improvement, and lots of feedback on your skiing.

Do I need to be at a certain skiing ability level?
Yes – these courses are best suited for skiers who already have a solid foundation (comfortable intermediate or stronger) and want to develop confidence and capability across more challenging terrain. If you’re unsure about your level, our team can help advise on the right course for your goals.

Is avalanche safety training included?
On most improvement courses, Canadian Avalanche Association AST Level 1 training is included, giving you backcountry awareness and safety skills alongside your skiing progression.

Will there be time for a social life & après ski?
Absolutely – part of the ALLTRACKS experience is enjoying Whistler’s vibrant resort life. Weekly social events and plenty of downtime with fellow skiers make it easy to build friendships while improving your skiing.

What else do I need to bring or organise before the course?
You’re responsible for flights, personal gear, and appropriate winter sports insurance. We’ll provide full details in your pre-course information but can also support with advice if needed.
